Fraud Screen

The fraud screen tool allows a merchant to create and customize rules that automatically mark orders for future review. Running after the order has been placed, these rules look at the items in the cart, payment methods, shpping and billing address, and general order characteristics. If the order matches the combination of attributes defined in the rules, the order will be marked with a status of "Verifying" and hidden from the warehouse fulfillment system as well as 3rd party fulfilment engines until it can be reviewed.

Once the call center representative reviews the order and/or contacts the cusotmer to verify its validity, they can update the status in the Call Center > Order tool.

Searching

To find a rule or rules that share a common attribute value, a search block has been provided. To add a new one, use the "Add New" button

Searching for a fraud rule

These attributes are as follows:

Property Description
Rule Name All or part of the payment name
Active Only Filters your result to only show currently active rules
Rows Limits the results to the indicated number.

Details

The details screen allows you to manage the fraud rule name and the various order attributes that will trigger a review. When matching the order, all populated fields must match the fields of the order to trigger a match. If a field is left blank, it will not be used in comparison against the order.

Warning

Be careful of making a rule too generic. If you do not make a rule specific enough, it may cause an excessive number of orders to be marked for review. Before saving and migrating your rule, try reading it out loud to yourself to see if it makes sense.

Ex: "I want to personally review all orders that have a ....".
