Product Features

A product feature is a custom attribute or attribute group that can be applied to your products. These can range from text elements like special care and washing instructions, to single value designations or multiple-valued classifications. Whatever details you think your customer should know when making their decision, you can add them here.

Each product feature created in this tool will appear to your merchandising team in the product setup. They can then select or edit any of these features as needed when merchandising the product.

Produt Featured can also be linked to Product Facets to assist with your site search. When you create the various multi-valued elements of a feature one or more of them can be referenced in a Facet and included along with the other facet groups in the guided navigation.

Attributes

The product contains all of the elements that are shared across the various size and color variations. These attributes are as follows:

Property	Description
Name	The name of the feature group as it will appear in the product editing screens. eg.g. "Special Instructions" or "Lifestyle"
Feature Type	The type of selection that a merchandiser can make when using this feature type. Possible values are: Text Radio Button Checkbox
Feature Value	The label of the value.
Feature Description (Optional)	An optional text descriptor for the element. Usually used in text elements, it can also be used for tool tips or informationa; text on radio or checkbox options when the value is not inherently clear to your customer.

Searching for Product Features

To find a product feature, a search block has been provided.

The Name field allows you to filter features that only show groups whos name contains the characters entered. The Active-only option filters your result to only show currently active facets.

To create a new feature, click the Add New button above the search criteria. Choose a name for the feature and select the type. When choosing the type, if the feature will have one or more long bodies of text information like washing instructions, choose "TEXT". If the feature will consist of a list of values and the merchandiser should select 1 and only one of those values, choose "RADIO". If the merchandiser should be able to choose multiple values, choose "CHECKBOX". Once created, you can begin adding the individual values to the feature

Adding a product feature

To add a value to the feature, use the "Add Value" block to specify the Name for the value and any supporting decriptions you need. If you are planning to link this feature to a facet, the value should exactly match the value as it appears in the facet. For example, if you have created a Facet group called "Material", and one of the facets is "Suede", you should enter "Suede" in the feature as well. Click Create new value and the value will appear in the list of values above.

Editing a product feature

Once a value has been created, both the value and any accompanying description can be edited. Once all of your revisions have been made, click "Save All Changes" to commit them to the site.
