Pages

The page tool allows a content manager to register a new site page in marketAgility. Each page must refer back to a registered template that dictates its layout, however this registration allows basic content elements to be defined for the page that override the default values of the template, such as header, footer, meta data and key content panels.

Attributes

The page contains all of the dynamic sections that appear within a template. These attributes are as follows:

Property Description
Name A friendly name for the template
Template The name that identifies the template that should be used to display the page. Templates are defined in the administration tools.
Url Identifier The portion of the url that uniquely defines this page. It will be automatically prefixed with the template name to complete the full url.
Page Title The HTML page title that will appear in the browser for this page.
Short Description This is a brief description of what the page is used for. Typically only relevant throughout the admin tools, although it could also be referenced by your page templates if desired.
Page <head> This HTML content will appear in the <head> block of your site.
Main Page Body - Top Navigation This HTML content can be made visible to your Desktop or Responsive visitors in the navigation block

Searching for Pages

To find a page or pages that share a common attribute value, a search block has been provided. To add a new one, use the "Add New" button

The Name field allows you to filter your results to only contain pages that share the characters entered in their name. The Url Identifier field allows you to locate a page by its url identifier. This is particularly useful when you don't know the friendly name of a page, but you can find it on the website. The Active-only option filters your result to only show currently active pages.

Searching for a page

Browsing Page Categories

If you wish to work with all of the pages in a particular category, you can switch to the browse tab. This will give you an interactive pages category navigation tool to locate the category you are looking for. Use the arrows to expand subcategories. Once you have found the desired category, click the name to see the pages assigned to that category.

To edit the category attributes, click the pen icon. A window will open with the various category elements that can be altered.

To delete the category, click the trash can icon.

Note

Deleting a category will not delete the pages in it. It simply removes the category association from any pages, removes any associated navigation elements that reference the category, and finally removes the category itself.

Details

To create a new page, click the Add New button above the search criteria. Choose a name, template and url identifier for the page and any supporting content.

Adding a page

Once all of your revisions have been made, click "Save All Changes" to commit them to the site.

Assets

Assets include any images, videos or supporting documents for a given page. Assets are encapsulated into named "views", and can be displayed with the page throughout your page content blocks.

Editing Page Assets

To add a new view, select the type of view (Image, Youtube Video, Video, 360 View, or Asset Link), provide a view name and an optional url to the asset and click "create new view". For images, you can upload your image assets once the view has been created. For all other image types, you need to provide a url to the location of your asset. Make sure to use a secure url to your content to prevent security warnings from being presented to your customers when the link is presented.

Property Description
Asset Type The Asset type lets your website know what the asset is and how it should be displayed. Some assets need special players, while others can be displayed using simple HTML elements. Once the image type has been selected and the view created, it cannot be changed.
Name This field is the name of the view. It is recommended that you use something descriptive to help with both accessibility and SEO, such as "Children playing catch", or "View of our store"
External Url This is the url to the content that should be displayed in the player for video types or in the hyperlink for asset links. This field will not appear for image views. The url can be to an asset you have created within marketAgility, or to a 3rd party service that houses additional content.

Categories

The categories tool allows you to group similar pages into categories. These can be used for administrative organization purposes, allowing you to quickly navigate to groups of similar pages (like FAQs or Spec Sheets). Alternatively, categories can be linked to content blocks to create reusable content blocks that can be placed throughout your site.

Editing Page Categories

The categories that this page has been associated with can be seen on the left side of the screen. Clicking the Remove button next to the desired category will remove the current page from that category.

To add this current page to an existing Page category, select the desired category from the drop down and click "Add To List"

Change History

The change history tab shows all of the changes that were made to this content and by whom. It is useful for diagnosing unexpected results on your site.
